This collaborative quilt was created by young poeple during my eight
weeks in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  The quilt was created by six
groups of students, each group adding elements relating to what they
learned about the Cuyahoga Valley, including the Underground Railroad,
Native Americans, canal stories, farming, weather, the glacial peroid and
bio-diversity.  The students ranged in age from fifth to high school.
As I walked through the forest, I keep thinking about walking in
the footsteps of people who came before.  Embroidered in the
leaves of the middle tree says,
"My footsteps are your footsteps.  Listen to the music of the wind.
I am with you always."
