A FAMILY THAT QUILTS AND SHARES QUILTS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER
Daughters: Monica, Kamilah, Lela and Jasmine and grandchildren: Renae, Timmesha, Kamilah, Dionne, Diamond, Martine, Marc, Brandon, Lorenzo, Amber, Jamal, Alonzo, Jasmine and Brianna. We got together one day with our quilts to document our lives. I'm working on making a quilt for each grandchild.
These two additions, Challenge and Marlayah, came to us after our quilt documentation day

Here's Marc, the oldest grandson, and his work in progress. This is a hand embroidered piece paying homage to Ogun, the Yoruba Deity whose attributes include fortitude, energy and hard work. Marc plans to color the background fabric with acrylic paint and shortening as a resist. He says he will then use reverse applique to complete it.
