| THE NARRATIVE QUILT tells a story in cloth. Narrative quilts can commemorate, and perhaps restore. They can also be forward thinking tools that plant sign posts for us to follow. Most of all, narrative quilts are cathartic and liberating. |
| Wild Horses and Praise to the Narrative Quilt I run free. I emote hot and muggy, or cold and biting, or fresh and clean. I thrive. The stench of a chemical spill on humanity may force a turn in my direction. No matter. The challenge is welcomed. I sniff out injustice and go deep, sewing into cloth remedies, reminders, restoration. I am in tune with every flick of man and nature. The needle gives control. My thigh muscels are pronounced, jittery, in anticipation of the next call. Freedom is my life's force. I know how wild horses feel. |
